Electrochemotherapy

 New Here!

Electrochemotherapy is used in skin tumors such as equine sarcoid, squamous cell carcinoma or melanoma. This is an antitumour therapy that can be used alone or in combination with surgical excision of the tumor.

A cytotoxin fatal to tumor cells, such as carbo-platinum or cis-platinum, is injected subcutaneously under the tumor and subsequently an electric field of stress is generated in this area. The medication is concentrated 100 times more in the tumor tissue.

Overall, 1 to 4 treatment cycles are required, depending on the size of the tumor to achieve lasting success. All treatment given under short-term anesthesia.
